World Ocean Day

Oceans represents the majority of the planet surface with 71% of the total area. Since the origin of Planet Earth, Oceans have been creators of life and they play a vital role on the cleaning atmosphere process, since around 70% of the oxygen added to the atmosphere every year comes from the plankton in the sea, according to a research conducted by the scientist George Small. Unfortunately it is noticed that in recent years the oceans have been threatened for different reasons such as excessive pollution, illegal fishing and the disposal of polluting waste.

On June 8th, The World Oceans Day is celebrated! At Club Solaris we are committed to take care of these important ecosystems, practicing daily beach cleaning and making sea turtles protection campaigns to mention a few. For this reason and to celebrate this wonderful ocean day we want to share with you three simple step that you can easily follow to help us keep the ocean healthy, which is very important for everyone and gives us wonderful days under the sun.

Less trash on the beach

Surely you've heard before the "do not use straw" campaigns and it is that actually a good measure to protect the environment to avoid using so much plastic. The straws, for example, are rarely necessary and it is plastic that could easily reach the sea. If, when you spend the day at the beach, you generate some trash, it is very important to take it to the nearest trash can and thus avoid affecting the marine fauna and the cleanliness of the sea.

Respect marine life

If you are a beach lover, during vacations you will surely have some contact with marine animals such as turtles and crabs on the beach. It is very important to respect them and not interrupt natural processes such as nesting, as well as to leave them free and not take them away from their home. We also encourage you to motivate the little ones to respect nature and teach them about the importance of each specie.

It is very important to protect your skin from UV rays but what could be better that doing it in a responsible way with the environment?
