LOS CABOS TOURISM BOARD
Partner Statement
Recently, there have been some inaccurate and misleading reports about threats from cartels on U.S. citizens living in Mexico and traveling to Mexico, including occasional mentions of Los Cabos. These reports do not reflect the reality of Los Cabos, which continues to be a safe, secure, and welcoming destination for visitors.
As part of our ongoing outreach to U.S. media, we continue to share that the Los Cabos region maintains one of the highest standards of safety and hospitality in Mexico, supported by strong coordination between the Los Cabos Tourism Board, local government, and the private sector. Visitors continue to enjoy world-class experiences, from luxury accommodations and award-winning dining to sustainable outdoor adventures, all within a community dedicated to guest safety and well-being.
Through daily media monitoring, we are seeing day-over-day declines since the coverage peak on October 7 and social media conversation has also declined significantly, dropping by 74% since the peak also on October 7.
We will continue with daily media monitoring to ensure we are tracking this and any new inaccurate news coverage and we will adjust our outreach strategies as needed to maintain confidence in Los Cabos as a safe, world-class destination.
