Ahh Ventura Park

Welcome, everyone! I'm back with my monthly trips to explore nearby attractions and parks, bringing you reviews and recommendations on the best things to do near Royal Solaris Cancun.

This time, I had the pleasure of booking a water park adventure through Sol-Ha Travel Agency. Just three miles from the resort, I visited Ventura Park—a must-visit destination for fun-seekers in Cancun.

Ventura Park is one of the top-rated Cancun excursions, offering endless excitement for families, couples, and solo travelers alike.

Let’s dive in! Ventura Park is a massive water park featuring multiple swimming pools, a lazy river, a wave pool, beach access, family-friendly slides, and even thrilling zip lines. The park also has additional attractions like laser tag and go-karts, but unfortunately, those were closed during my visit.

I booked a package that included full park access, unlimited meals and drinks, and the incredible Dolphin Experience add-on. Booking in advance provided express entry for my group, making the experience even smoother.

First Stop: The Dolphin Encounter

The Dolphin Encounter area is a separate, beautifully designed section of the park. It includes a shopping store, a second-floor lounge with a bar, a pool, sunbeds, locker rooms, dressing rooms, and showers.

Each participant receives a wristband with a designated time slot. We arrived 10 minutes early for a quick induction on interacting with dolphins underwater. After gearing up with life vests and goggles, we were greeted by our instructor, José Luis, and introduced to two incredible dolphins, Asia and Apollo. Fun fact: Asia is the leader of the pack, and Apollo is his son!

During our 40-minute Solaris Dolphin Experience, we had the chance to touch, interact, and even receive friendly kisses from the dolphins. They also put on a fun performance—singing, clapping, and splashing water. José Luis, with over eight years of experience, shared fascinating insights about their behavior and training.

These dolphins were born in the aquarium and trained using positive reinforcement techniques. I counted around 15 dolphins across five pools, all appearing well-cared for and playful.

Relaxing and Dining

After an exciting morning with the dolphins, I headed to the main pool, grabbed a lounge chair, and relaxed with a refreshing Long Island Iced Tea. The atmosphere was lively—kids screaming in excitement on the zip lines, families enjoying the slides, and the sun shining brightly.

At noon, I visited the buffet in the main building. Due to safety protocols, food was served by staff rather than self-service. I opted for a classic combo: a hamburger, chicken nuggets, and fries. They also had pizza, hot dogs, and desserts, but I skipped the sweets this time.

To digest my meal, I floated along the lazy river. No deeper than four feet, it winds around the park, offering a relaxing way to stay in the water while enjoying cool breezes from the fountains and misting stations.

Wrapping Up the Day

Before heading back to the hotel, I took one last dip in the main pool. As time flew by, we made a quick stop at the ice cream shop for a sweet treat to beat the afternoon heat.

Currently, Ventura Park is open on weekends from 10 AM to 5 PM. However, the Dolphin Experience is available all week long and has a separate entrance. You can read more about this amazing park here.

Stay tuned for more incredible adventures near Solaris Resorts! Even though you don’t need to leave the hotel to have a great time, exploring the surrounding areas offers a fresh perspective and unforgettable experiences. See you soon!
